SHIELD EXCAVATING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield excavating machine which can effectively excavate a hard natural ground and a baserock and can be applied to the excavation of a tunnel having a various section. SOLUTION: A cutter head 2 is arranged in front of a shield body 1 and moved along a plane to cross a shield shaft center at a right angle by the parallel link mechanism of a cutter driving device 3 to excavate a natural ground. Thus the cutter head 2 is composed of a driving frame 11 driven by the parallel link mechanism and a cutter face plate 13 which is arranged on the driving frame through a cutter propelling jack 12 so as to be longitudinally movable and has a cutter bit 15.
