998,740. Dough dividing machines. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTION GUILLAUME OOMS S.A. Jan. 25, 1962 [Dec. 6, 1961], No. 2947/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] A large batch of dough is conveyed by a first conveying means to a dividing means where it is divided into a number of relatively small batches of dough which are transferred on to a second conveying means and conveyed to a dough processing machine. A mass of dough 16 is poured on a conveyer 2, which is temporarily accelerated to bring the mass against the dividing device 3, which detaches portions of dough 17 from the mass 16 and deposits them at an adjustable rate on a conveyer 4. The portions 17 are then fed one at a time to a continuously operating processing machine 15. The conveyers 2, 4 and the dividing device 3 are driven from motors 5, 11, 8 respectively, all controlled by a switching gear 14 which also acts as a safety device, instantaneously stopping the machine when the feed supply is in excess. The dividing device consists of a shaft 10 carrying discs 18 . . . 21 all joined together by a cross-bar 22 acting as the dividing knife. An extra conveyer located so as to overhang the forward end of conveyer 4, brings back dough refuse from the processing machine, dropping it on conveyer 4. Advantageously the conveyer 2 has mobile walls consisting of two endless belts driven either by the dough itself or mechanically. A spot-light and a photoelectric cell can be placed along the axis X-X, so that when the conveyer 2 is no longer supplied with dough the light will reach the photo-electric cell causing automatic acceleration of the conveyer 2. |
