PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable cooling corresponding to various operation modes, by providing an image formation part with a cooling means and controlling the cooling means on the basis of information indicating an operation state of an apparatus main body which is informed from a control part to the image formation part. SOLUTION: In a multifunctional printer, a controller 1 sends a command of an operation mode to a printer unit 3 via a printer I/F in accordance with an instruction from a host device. The printer unit 3, receiving the command, recognizes the transfer of the command and processes received command data. When the command data are fixed, it is detected whether the command is a command for setting the operation mode. In the case of YES, it is detected whether it is a standby mode among the operation modes. When it is the standby mode, a fan 5 is turned OFF. On the other hand, when it is not the standby mode nor a scanning mode, it is detected whether it is a print or copy mode. In the case of YES, the fan 5 is turned ON to perform cooling. |
