PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large-sized flat planar sintered compact which has the structure uniformly oriented and aligned with the crystals of wollastonite in the same direction and has excellent strength and elasticity by forming a planar body by using wollastonite which is an acicular crystal ore, clay and talc and a dry body compounded with general raw materials for pottery and porcelain and using a vacuum pug mill and rolling rollers and drying this body, then firing the body. SOLUTION: The dry body is 14 to 20wt.% in moisture content is prepd. by mixing 30 to 70wt.%, in terms of anhydride, wollastonite of >=1mm in the length of the acicular crystal and >=20 in aspect ratio and which is raw materials contg. the acicular crystal ore of β- CaO.CiO2 , 60 to 30wt.%, in terms of anhydride, clayey raw materials, 10 to 20% talc and if necessary, 0 to 30wt.% general raw materials for pottery and porcelain (total 100%). This dry body is extruded to a cylindrical shape by the vacuum pug mill and is then cut and developed to a planer form. This planar body is rolled to a desired thickness and size by the rolling rollers in the same direction as the extrusion direction to form the planar body. This planar body is fired at 1000 to 1250 deg.C after drying. |
