PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold, with which a very highly accurate disc can be molded without developing a strain, a surface waviness, projections or the like and in which a metal film is prevented from separating from a matrix. SOLUTION: In a mold for molding a disc, which is formed by forming a metal film 2 made of Ir on a matrix 1 made of sintered material, the adhesion strength, which is measured by a scratching test of the metal film 2 to the matrix 1, is set to be 300g or more. Concretely, the metal film 2 is formed on the matrix 1 by a sputtering process under the condition that the film forming speed is set to be 0.14μm/min or more. The preferable metal film 2 thickness is 3μm or more, the more preferable one is about 12μm.
