摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device having a friction damper to generate a constant friction damping force even when the size of a vertical gap changes between an object for base-isolation and the vibration propagation side due to deformation of an isolator itself during a change with the large of time and the occurrence of an earthquake. SOLUTION: A friction damper 14 is formed between a structure 10 and a foundation 12 and comprises a friction damping force producing part 20 composed of a friction material 16 and a slide material 18 slid in a state to be brought into pressure contact with a friction material 16, and a spring located between the friction damping force producing part 20 and one of the structure 10 and the foundation 12 and generating an elastic force to cause the friction damping force generating part 20 to generate a pressure contact force. The spring is composed of a disc spring 22 on which a set pressure contact force is applied and which is flexibly deformed in a non-linear spring region wherein the fluctuation of a rebound force is lower than an expected change amount of a vertical gap sizeδbetween the structure 10 and the foundation 12.
