The invention relates to a method for refuelling a motor vehicle or the like with natural gas, methane, hydrogen or a similar gas which is pumped into a tank in the gaseous state of aggregation and stored in the tank of a motor vehicle. After a refuelling hose has been attached to the tank of the motor vehicle, a connection is made to a pressure sensor (9) which is linked to the fuel dispenser. The gas pressure in the vehicle tank (1) is measured with the pressure sensor (9) and stored as a first pressure value in a memory, where a defined test mass is given for the gas in the tank. After the pressure in the tank has stabilized, said gas pressure is measured again and stored in a second memory. The remaining mass of gas needed to arrive at the final pressure in the tank is calculated and subsequently provided by relating both pressure values and a temperature value taken with a thermometer (10), using either a stored gas-specific table or a gas-specific status equation. |
