The arrangement is intended to protect the driver's food, in the event of an accident, against impact injury transmitted from the brake booster (9), situated in the engine compartment, via the push rod (8). It is activated by crash impact detected in the engine compartment by a pin (15) and cylinder (14) generating hydraulic pressure fed via conduit (13) to cylinder (10). The piston rod (11) of cylinder (10) is thus driven outwards to rotate a plate (6) about axle (5) in direction of arrow. Two cam like ears (7) are brought into contact with push rod (8) causing axial movement of the axle (5) disengaging it from the brake pedal. |
