The present invention provides novel pyridazin-3-one derivatives of general formula (1): wherein R<1> is haloalkyl; R<2> and R<3> are independently hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, or alkoxyalkyl; X is hydrogen or halogen; Y is halogen, nitro, cyano, or trihalomethyl; Z<1> is oxygen, sulfur, CH2, or NH; Z<4> is oxygen or sulfur; R<4> is hydrogen, alkyl, or cycloalkyl; and R<5> is alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkynyl, or other substituents as defined in the description, and herbicides containing them as active ingredients.
