PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate an operation of position regulating of an image to be printed on a sheet. SOLUTION: An original plate 42 is grasped by a clamping base 48 and a clamping piece 50. An end position sensor 52 for sensing an end position of the plate 42 is provided on an outer periphery of a plate cylinder 10. The sensor 52 is an optical sensor for detecting presence or absence of a reflected light of a light emitted from itself. A non-reflecting plate 66 for not almost reflection the light is disposed at the bas 48, and an opening 64 is provided at a position opposed to the plate 66 of the piece 50. Since the plate 42 reflects the light, when an output of the sensor 52 is monitored while rotating the cylinder 10, the time point of detecting the reflected light can be judged as a position of the end of the cylinder 42. A difference between a positionθ1 at this time and a predetermined reference positionθ2 can be calculated as a deviationΔθ. When rotation of the cylinder 10 is deviated in response to the deviationΔθ, the position of the printed image can be position-regulated.
