FAULT RECOVERY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the fault recovery method in a communication network in which an optimum recovery route is formed in a short time even when a node equipment without a line terminator is in existence in the communication network by allowing an optical cross connector to directly conduct exchange of fault recovery control information between nodes not through the line terminator. SOLUTION: A line terminator LTE in a node equipment in a communication network that detects a fault in an optical fiber used for communication gives an instruction to an optical cross connector OXC in its own node equipment as a trigger to select an optical fiber. All the control for the changeover of the optical fibers is executed by exchange of switching control information by the optical cross connector OXC itself with an optical cross connector in other node equipment.
