PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a reading operation at optimum timing, to prevent a time loss and to improve productivity by starting the conveyance of an original at timing before a specified time from the completion time of the preparatory operation of a reading means, based on an operation condition. SOLUTION: A conveyance time t1 required to carry the original up to a reading position from an original stand-by position is calculated from the operation condition set by a final control element 1. When mag >= 1 is obtained, t1 = T1A + fladjust/(FS2/(mag + magadjust)) is set. When mag < 1 is obtained, t1 = T1B + fladjust/(FS2/(mag + magadjust)) is set. Where, mag, magadjust and fladjust are internal parameters storing reading magnification, a magnification correction value and a conveyance distance correction value which are received from the final control element 1 respectively and T1A and T1B are constants for showing unmagnified and half conveyance times, when an original conveyance distance is at a standard value, respectively. |
