PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form satisfactory image by measuring the surface roughness of an image carrier or a physical-properties value reflecting the surface roughness, and changing a surface correction toner-image, which is formed on the image- nonformation part of the surface of the image carrier, according to the measured value. SOLUTION: An electrification bias voltage is applied to an electrifying roller 2 from an electrification bias power source 8, the value IDC of a DC current flowing at the time is detected by a drum-film-thickness measurement circuit 9, and a control part 11 calculated the film thickness of the photoreceptive layer of a photoreceptor drum 1. Then, the electrification bias power source 8 is turned off, and an area of the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 is electrified by the electrifying roller 2, only the distance that the surface is moved which corresponds to the amount of the rotation of the photoreceptor drum 1. With a development bias power source 10 on, toner is supplied to the image-nonformation part of the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 by means of a developing sleeve 4a only for a specific length of time after the electrified area has passed the developing sleeve 4a, so that the surface correction toner-image is formed. |
