<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing-processing apparatus which forms images of superior printing quality by smoothing lines, particularly stepped lines, and more specifically a printing-processing apparatus which can form printing images of high resolution without changing a resolving power of a printing head. SOLUTION: Image data to be inputted through a divider 38 are distributed to line buffers 39-42 for each line. Image data of three consecutive lines are subjected to smoothing. A boundary detection circuit 44 extracts, e.g. image data of three consecutive dots, judges whether eight dots are printed or not in the periphery of a central dot of the three dots as a target dot, compares data, e.g. with data of a preliminarily formed table, and smooths every pixel with the use of corresponding data. The process is carried out sequentially for each target dot, so that a smoothed image with few steps is formed.</p> |
