PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the shortening of the computing time accompanying conversion processing and the low capacity of holding memories by holding the Hough transformation data of each image in the images for the article having the isometric polygonal shape only in the specified angle range. SOLUTION: The profile part of the image of the article (bolt or the like) having the isometric polygonal shape (isometric 2n polygon) obtained from a camera is extracted by an image processing part 1. A conversion processing part 2 performs the Hough transformation of each image in the profile part in the angle range of '360/n'. A memory 3 holds the converted data only for this angel range. A material-direction specifying part 5 of an integrating-point data processing part 4 obtains the offset by subtracting the multiple of about '360/n' from the value of an angle θ at a peak region (p) of the integrated value. In an integrating-point-table forming part 6, an integrating-point table 7 for selecting only the value, wherein the difference of the angles θ of the respective integrating points is approximately equal to about '360/n' degrees and the value of the multiple of the above described degree, is formed and updated. |
