PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To jet a processing liquid stably from a recording head by an arrangement wherein a test pattern has such a pattern as recording regions based, respectively, on two colors abut on each other and a liquid is jetted to only one recording region at the time of recording. SOLUTION: In the case of a pattern for jetting black ink on the background of yellow from each corresponding jet port of a processing liquid jetting head, the processing liquid is imparted in one-and-one correspondence to black pixels but it is not imparted to yellow pixels on the periphery thereof. Consequently, the yellow ink region is not blurred with black ink when the processing liquid is jetted well. When the processing liquid is not jetted or jetted insufficiently, yellow ink can not be prevented from being blurred with black ink and blur can be recognized on the opposite sides of a black line in a test pattern. |
