PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a strong wooden handrail which can be miniaturized, by providing a handrail part and a fixing part connected to the base end side thereof and embedding a metallic reinforcing member extended to the fixing part in the inside of the handrail part. SOLUTION: In a wooden handrail 10 provided with a handrail part 19 and a fixing part 20 connected to the base end side, a metallic reinforcing member 12 extended to the fixing part 20 is embedded in the inside of the handrail part 19. The metallic reinforcing member 12 made of a steel plate or the like is provided with a flange 13 and a vertical plate part 14 connected thereto. The vertical plate part 14 is extended to the bar-form part 15 of the handrail body. Extended pieces 16, 17 made of a thin plate are provided at the periphery of the central thick plate, in the flange 13 and screw holes 18 are formed at every specified pitch in the extended pieces 16, 17. A groove 21 in which the vertical plate part 14 is closely fitted, is formed in the handrail part 19 of the wooden handrail body 11 and a shallow groove 22 in which the flange 1-3 is closely fitted, is formed in the fixing part 20. The handrail body 11 is fixed to a specified member 24 such as a wall together with the metallic reinforcing member 12 by use of screws 29. |
