The system for controlling the variable pitch propellers of ships according to Specification 1, 090,110 is modified by the introduction of a delay circuit on the input side of the limiting controller 24. The resistor 31 is connectable in series with diode 32 and resistors 33, 34, which are also associated with the tachometer generator 23. When the master transmitter 9 is adjusted, a unit 36 releases a pulse whereby time-lag relay 35 connects resistor 34 to the input of the controller 24. The time constant of the control circuit then is such that the speed deviation signals are transmitted without delay. When the master transmitter 9 is not adjusted but the load on the propeller shaft is increased due to external causes, the signals representing speed-deviations are transmitted to the controller 24 directly through the diode 32 so that there is no delay. If there is decreased load on the propeller shaft, correction is effected according to the time constant of the circuit including the resistor 33, and takes place at a slower rate. |
