PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate a joining equipment and a restraining equipment, to improve equipment efficiency, to make the deformation due to joining small and to obtain a high quality of joined product by applying the tension along the joining line direction to both metal stocks to be joined and integrally joining both metal stocks using frictional agitation joining method under this tension state. SOLUTION: Aluminum or aluminum alloy thin wall plate stocks 1 are butted in the side edges of them in the longitudinal direction to join. In this case, both end parts of both plate stocks 1 are respectively clamped with stretchers 2 and the tension in the direction along the joining line L is applied. The probe 4 of a rotor 3 is embedded into the butting part of both plate stocks 1 under this tension state while rotating the probe and transferred along the joining line L, whereby frictional agitation joining is executed. Since the strain generating due to joining is absorbed by the tension of both plate stocks 1, the strain left in the joined product finally obtained is extremely few. Especially, the correction of the deformation after joining in a large size thin wall joining structure is not required. |
