PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the visual inspection assistant device for printed matter which displays a defect or defect suspicious area of a print to a checker in an easy-to-see state and enables the checker to securely perform the visual inspection. SOLUTION: An image input part 1 inputs an image on printed matter P and this inputted image is compared by a comparison inspection part 5 with a reference image in a reference image storage part 2, so that their difference image is sent to a defect candidate area extraction part 6. The defect candidate area extraction part 6 extracts a defect candidate area according to the difference image from the comparison inspection part 5 and sends it to an image composition part 7. The image composition part 7 puts the input image, an image of the defect candidate area in the input image, and an image of the same area with the defect candidate area in the reference image together. This composite image is displayed at an image display part 9 through an image storage part 8. The checker decides the print quality of the displayed image and inputs the decision result through a decision result input part 11. This inputted decision result is stored in a data storage part 10 together with the serial number of the printed matter P. |
