The bracket (1) has side beams (2,3), which are elastically mounted on the car body (12) and are joined by cross-members. The side beams have bearings for wheel-suspension mechanisms. The car engine is mounted in front of one cross-member in the travel direction (F). Diagonal struts (6,7) are joined to the cross-member (5) of the bracket and also to the car body, to form a V-shape, and are situated at each side. The diagonal struts are secured to the side beams with upright bolts (13,14). The diagonal struts can have fixing points (B) to the cross-member at opposite side of a longitudinal centre line, and diverge towards front fixing points (B1) on the car body. The diagonal struts can move freely about the bolts in the radial and vertical directions in relation to the side beams.
