A telephone socket (10) comprises a front housing (12) having a window (14). A slidable shutter (16) closes the window (14), a circuit board (18) is retained in the housing (12) by clips (20). On one side of the board (18) is mounted wire receptors (22) and a plug receptor (24). The board (18) has an aperture therein corresponding with the window (14) and through which a telephone plug passes for connection in the receptor (24). The socket (10) also has a pivoted label lens (80) having non-circular pivot pins retained in recesses (86) of the housing, the resilience of the housing material retaining the lens in given positions.
