PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer for producing high voltage exhibiting a high reliability in which a coil is wound without deteriorating the winding diameter of the insulating film and the proper winding of the coil and impregnation of resin is improved. SOLUTION: A transformer is provided with a cylindrical coil bobbin 12, a coil 13 wound with multiple layers around the coil bobbin 12 and insulating films 14 wound around each interlayer of the coil 13 or between the first layers of the coil bobbin 12 and the coil 13. The insulating film 14 wound around each interlayer of the coil 13 is provided with multiple protrusions 15 for forming gaps for filling resin around the coil 13.
