[Also in Division B8] Parallel sheets 9 of asphalt are cast by a weir 3 on to a cooled endless conveyer 4, transverse indentations 12 are impressed alternately into opposite sides of the sheets by rollers 10 and 11, and the sheets are finally fed through rollers 10<SP>1</SP> to an intermittently moving conveyer 14 upon which the sheets are folded zig-zag fashion to form a stack which cold sets to form a block 15. The number of folds in the stack is controlled by cutter 16. In an alternative embodiment, the sheets are cut into individual sheets which are subsequently stacked.
