Process for the manufacture of compound materials based on aluminium and/or its alloys and ceramic particles. Comprises vigorous mixing of the particles with the metal in the liquid state under the following conditions: 1 particle incorporation time 2-3 minutes and dispersion time 15-45 minutes, 2 mixing temperature 50 degree C above the liquidus, 3 stirring at 1500-2500 rpm with a specially designed stirrer, 4 mixing under vacuum at a pressure of less than 60 mbar or in an atmosphere of argon when vacuum is not used, 5 ceramic particle size in excess of 10 μ m, among others. Multiple applications in the manufacture of materials for sporting articles, the motor vehicle market, coverings to produce non-slip wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant surfaces, etc.
