<p>The hail meter specified in the invention solves the problem of easy and efficient measuring the density and direction of falling of hail grains, as well as the size or diameter of these grains and on this basis defining the damage caused on the observed area which is linearly proprotional to the kinetic energy. The hail meter has a simple and robust structure consisting of the hail measuring plate (1) and stand (2). The hail measuring plate (1) consists of the housing (3) with one side and one front cutout, into which is inserted a registration plate (4). The hail measuring plate consists of a softer base plate (5) to which is glued a metal foil (6) lined or tightly conneted in some other way, visible through the front cutout in the housing (3), whose feature is that it preserves the shape and size of the hail grains. On the measuring site, the hail measuring plate (1) is turned in the direction (N -S) so that the side cutout in the housing (3) is turned towards the south (S). The hail meter specified in the invention can include several hail measuring plates (1) placed in the horizontal and vetical position, at arbitrary angles. Several hail meters together form a hail meter network which can have a ground plan of regular or irregular shape, in which the hail meters can be evenly or differently spaced.</p> |
