A mixed brake drum is described for using in the brake drum assembly including a flange and armor assembly of one single piece and a lining integrally placed in the armor portion of the same. The method for forming the mixed drum of this invention including the steps of a) providing a generally flat sheet of a first material; b) forming the flat sheet to a generally flat circular pattern; c) submit the pattern to a series of metal formation operations for producing a flange and armor assembly between single piece; and d) strain any lining formed from a second material within the flange and armor assembly of one single piece for producing in this way the mixed brake drum.
