The latch, designed to move up and down in slots in a bracket on the end of a moving bar or a manger barrier and engage with a control bar,consists of a body (2) containing a rod (2') which is threaded at least at its two ends (2a, 2b) to engage with two stops (7). The rod, which is of circular cross-section and constant thickness, has a covering layer of a shock absorbing plastic or similar material, selected from a polypropylene, polyamide or polyoxymethylene.
