Catheter with internal position marker

The catheter (1) consists of a tube hollow (2) with connectors (3) on the outer end and a balloon shaped probe on the other end. The outer end has a galvanic contact (6) to a wire which runs to the inner end, where it protrudes from the pinch (5) at the end of the catheter bulge (7). In the centre of the balloon end (7) of the catheter, the central section of the wire carries a marker (8). The marker (8) has a pattern of material. Parts of the material are impervious to X- rays or to Magnetic resonance radiation.
