Wooden safety barrier for roadways in rural areas

The barrier runs along the side of a road (A, B) and has a rail (2) which runs parallel to the road made of wooden sections (3) which are joined by metal plates (16, 17) and have a tensioned steel cable (6) running through them. The rails are supported by metal posts (4) with a C-shaped section and are joined to the posts by shearing pins (23) which extend above the plates and are shaped to fit the posts. On the road side of the barrier there is a guide rail (42) below knee height made of C-shaped metal sections which are covered by wooden sections (44). The transverse walls (22) of the pins have a vertical groove (25) running from the lower edge (24). The transverse bars of the posts have a groove running down from the upper edge.
