The container (1) has two compartments (2,3) connected by a strip of material (4) and the openings (2a,3a) form a single throat (5). The cap (12) has retainers (8) and a thread complimentary to the container throat. The retainers have two rigid wedges (10) shaped to each fill a space (6) defined between the double openings and the connecting strip. The wedges are inserted and retained in the spaces before placing of the cap. The opposing faces of the wedges and the defined spaces form interlocking formations to retain the wedges in place.
