Radar system on board of moving platform

The radar system consists of an arrangement for generating a transmitter signal, a transmitting antenna system, a reception antenna system, and a signal processing arrangement for evaluating reflected signals. A resulting antenna characteristic (7,8) is formed through superposition of the antenna characteristics of the transmitting and the receiving antenna system. The used antenna systems result in at least two different antenna characteristics for the improved separation of depicted points (4,5). The knowledge of the currently valid resulting antenna characteristic is used in the signal processing arrangement for the dissolution of the points. The transmitting antenna system has preferably an antenna characteristic which is not timewise changeable.
