The invention concerns a platform device for handling goods of which the external space requirement, lengthwise or transverse, can be varied precisely and easily as it is equipped with an adjusting system. Said adjusting system enables the adaptation of the platform for handling goods according to the load carried before or after loading without having to manipulate the platform. It consists of supporting platforms (2 and 3) in which angles (1) and a supporting cross (12) slide. An adjusting system consisting of two adjusting assemblies integrated in the cross (12) links the platforms (2 and 3) to the cross (12). Depending on the direction in which one of the adjusting screw (4, 5, 6 or 7) nuts (13) is operated, with an appropriate tool (10), the supporting platforms (2 or 3) are spaced from or brought closer to each other. The invention is particularly useful for handling loads having different dimensions from the present norms.
