发明名称 Wear resistant layer containing nanocrystalline hard material particles
摘要 A wear resistant layer, for light metal components of i. c. engines, contains nanocrystalline hard material particles of less than 100 (preferably /}30) nm mean particle size. Preferably, the particles are contained in amount /-5 vol.% in a metal matrix and consist of Si, Ge, C, B or a group IVb, Vb or VIb metal, an oxide, nitride, boride, carbide or silicide of these elements or of Mg, Al, Y, Mn, Cu or group VIIIb metal or a mixture or mixed crystals of the above. Also claimed is a method of producing the above layer by thermal spraying of the nanocrystalline particles which are preferably coated with fusible metal particles. Further claimed is production of a cylinder liner running face by applying a nanocrystalline particle-containing layer onto a cylindrical core of diameter corresponding to the inside diameter of the liner, positioning the core in a cylinder block casting mould and removing the core after casting.
