FIELD: sorbents. SUBSTANCE: non-evaporant getter is prepared from metal powder product of reduction of metal oxides by calcium hydride followed by molding and caking under specified conditions. Resultant getter contains at least one element from the group including Ti and Zr and at least one element from the group including V, Cr, Mn, Fe and Ni at specified weight ratio of the first and second group elements. Non-evaporant getter also has up to 1% calcium oxide. Elements present in alloy are unevenly distributed throughout the bulk of getter. Product of invention provides high rates of sorption of hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide so enabling evacuation with large gas flows under pressure of order of <EMI ID=0.434 HE=6 WI=15 TI=CHI> Pa.
