<p>A device for purifying exhaust gases from a combustion apparatus (2), such as an internal combustion engine, comprises a closed vessel (3) and a negative pressure means (7), which is in fluid communication with the vessel (3) and is adapted to generate a negative pressure therein. The vessel (3) is so connectible to the combustion apparatus (2) that hot exhaust gases therefrom flow, under expansion, into the vessel (3). The device operates according to a purification method, in which the exhaust gases are caused to flow out of the combustion apparatus (2) and are expanded in a closed space (3), in which negative pressure prevails in relation to the ambient atmospheric pressure.</p> |
