The measuring device (1) has an angled strip reflector (3) in the path of the incident light (4), with the reflected light received by a camera (2) having its optical axis (2a) positioned parallel to a displacement axis for the reflector. A number of heliostats may be used for reflecting incident solar radiation onto an entry opening at the top of a tower containing an energy absorber, with the strip reflector at the rear of this opening in the path of the light received by the absorber.
