The injection pump (1) has a rotary element turnable in a motor-rotated housing with a control sleeve (32) around it, to adjust the injected fuel volume by relative position adjustment. The rotary element has a low-resistance breaking part. The part is formed in a position, where the larger part of a sliding section of the rotary element is located opposite to the fuel supply side. When turning of the element is prevented, the breaking part is fractured. The rotary element consists of a drive shaft (3) with connected rotor (13). The breaking point is a constriction in the rotor.
