A method and device for supplying electronic parts by which the availability of an electronic parts mounting device can be improved by preventing the long-time cessation of the mounting device due to a shortage of parts. The device for supplying electronic parts is provided with a supplying section designating section (32) which designates desired one of supplying sections (22), and a supplying section control section (31) which forcibly moves the supplying section making parts supplying operations to a prescribed saving position and moves a designated standby supplying section to a prescribed parts supplying position, when the standby supplying section is designated from the designating section (32). Therefore, the device for supplying electronic parts can improve the availability of the electronic parts mounting device by preventing the long-term cessation of the mounting device due to a shortage of parts.
