Programmable battery-operated hearing aid

The hearing aid has a housing (1) containing a microphone (2), an amplifier (3), a loudspeaker (4), a switch and a battery compartment (6) with spring contacts (7,8) for engaging the inserted battery. A programming circuit is connected to an external setting and programming device (9) or an external audio signal source (10) via a pin socket (13). The socket sleeve is earthed by connection to one of the battery spring contacts, the signal termination of the inserted plug (16) contacted by the hearing aid circuit.
