An air feed device is provided for supplying outside air to the expansion chamber. The air feed device is actuated by the pressure pulsations in the crankcase (3) of the internal combustion engine (1). A cleaning component is arranged in the expansion chamber (31). The air feed device incorporates a diaphragm pump (70) which has a pressure drive chamber connected to the crankcase. The diaphragm pump has a counter-pressure operation chamber (73) and a diaphragm which separates the pressure drive chamber (72) from the counter-pressure operation chamber. The pump further comprises a valve system which has a suction valve and an outlet valve.
