Platform for installation of esp. ship machinery in workshop environment

The platform (1) bears a range of technical installations which are subsequently inserted into a further structure such as a ship. The platform is of sandwich structure consisting of a grid (2) enclosed within an outer frame (3). The upper surface of the platform has a number of hard points (4) to which standing aggregates e.g. electrical installations are secured as required. Forces into and from the platform are transmitted to and from the surrounding structure by extensions (5). The platform has one or more inner spaces (6) which accommodate machinery and installations as required. The platform operates as an oscillation dampener between the machinery and electrical installations and the surrounding ship structure.
