The invention relates to a method for influencing the stereo channel separation in a broadcast receiver of an audiosignal that has been obtained from a received broadcast signal and is to be reproduced, as well as to a broadcast receiver for carrying out the method described in the invention. To this end, a field-strength auxiliary signal derived from the received field strength of the received broadcast signal and an interference auxiliary signal derived from signals indicating interference are connected both to each other and to a channel separation auxiliary signal derived from a signal indicating interference frequency, so as to form a factor D which influences stereo channel separation.
