In an optical disk stamper manufacturing step, a laser beam reflected at a rear surface of an original glass board results in multi-exposure of photo resist at the time of the laser exposure, causing total exposure and reproduction signal characteristics to vary in the radial direction. In order to prevent the decrease in productivity thus caused an original glass board comprising a glass board body (401), and a light absorptive material (402) pasted thereon is used. This minimizes the reflection of a laser beam at a rear surface (403) of the original glass board, and enables the manufacturing of a stamper having uniform reproduction signal characteristics in the radial direction with an improved yield.
