A constant velocity joint includes first (12) and second shafts (14), inner (22) and outer (20) members and a constraining unit (24). The first shaft has a first yoke (46) attached thereto and the second shaft has a second yoke (18), smaller than the first yoke, attached thereto. The outer member is pivotally connected to the first yoke about a first rotation axis (9) which is perpendicular to the axis of the first shaft. The inner member is pivotally connected to the second yoke about a second rotation axis (2) which is perpendicular to the axis (47) of the second shaft. The outer member is pivotally connected to the inner member about a third rotation axis (3) which is perpendicular to both the first and second rotation axes. All of the five axes intersect at a joint center point (C). The constraining unit constrains the third rotation axis to continuously lie generally within the homokinetic plane of the joint (111). Furthermore, the constraining unit includes at least two members (90,92) which rotate with respect to each other about an axis (110) which is normal to the homokinetic plane.

|
