<p>The voltage controlled oscillator circuit having an output, which includes an oscillation stage and an output stage. The oscillation stage having an oscillation loop having a total negative resistance such that it provides a signal having a predetermined frequency at an output. A first transistor within the oscillation loop, has two current carrying electrodes and a control electrode. Both electrodes are coupled between the oscillation stage output and a first supply voltage terminal. The control electrode receives a first bias voltage, a first inductor, between oscillation stage output and a second supply voltage terminal, allows the first transistor to operate at low supply voltages. The output stage transfers the oscillation signal to the output of the VCO circuit, and includes a second transistor having two current carrying electrodes and a control electrode. The second electrode is capacitively coupled to the output of the oscillation stage, and the control electrode receives a second bias voltage. A second inductor is coupled between the second supply terminal and the first electrode of the second transistor. A capacitor is coupled between the first electrode of the second transistor and the output of the VCO circuit.</p> |
