PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water resistant composition for ink jet-recording paper having good preservation stability in the presence of water and capable of attaining enhancement in water resistance of pictures and reduction of feathering at the same time by containing each of a specific amino group-containing compound and a crosslinking agent. SOLUTION: This water resistant composition for jet-ink recording sheets consists of (A) a compound having a primary amino group and/or a secondary amino group in the molecule such as a polyamine, etc., and (B) a crosslinking agent comprising compounds such as a (co)polymer, etc., of a monomer expressed by formula II [R is H or methyl; A is a 2-4C alkylene; (m) is 1-30] having >=2 acetoxy groups expressed by formula I in the molecule as essential compositional ingredients. The equivalent ratio of the amino group in the ingredient A against the acetoxy group of formula I in the ingredient B is preferably (0.1-90)/(99.9-10). The sheet for ink jet-recording is preferably prepared by impregnating an aqueous solution or an aqueous dispersion consisting of the composition on the surface and/or the inside of a supporting material and heating and drying to carry out a crosslinking reaction. |
