A sensor mounting, e.g. for use on a vehicle axle for an anti-lock brake system sensor, comprises an axle beam (7) and a sensor mounting block (1). The axle beam(7) has a journal(8) for a hub bearing assembly and a recess (11) inboard of the journal. The sensor mounting block (1) has at least one lug (6), preferably two, which engages in and is located by the recess (11). Securing means, such as a bolt which passes through a hole (5) in the sensor mounting block(1) and screws into a tapped hole in the axle beam (7) in or adjacent to the recess (11), secure the located sensor mounting block to the axle beam. The arrangement facilitates retrofitting of the sensor mounting and avoids welding for location of the sensor mounting. |
