HYBRID PLANE TYPE OPTICAL CIRCUIT AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid plane type optical circuit low in cost and having high function by connecting different kinds of optical circuit(PLC) by an easy method. SOLUTION: A 1st PLC 11 and a 2nd PLC 12 which is different in kind from the PLC 11 are connected. The PLCs 11 and 12 are provided with at least two optical waveguides 15 for connection separately from an optical waveguide 16. In the process for connecting the PLCs 11 and 12 to each other, the PLCs 11 and 12 are aligned with each other by using at least two optical waveguides 15 for connection which are provided to them, so the both are easily connected. The PLC 12 has a return structure of the optical waveguide 16. Because of this return structure, a multi-unit optical fiber (optical fiber for light input and output) 14 can be arranged for only the PLC 11.
