PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the frequency of replacement by arranging an atmosphere communication space and an ink supply part for one side of an ink container, proving a rib on the inner surface of an ink container located on the outside of a specific imaginary arc, and forming a space communicating with the atmosphere communication space thereby decreasing the residual quantity of ink. SOLUTION: An ink tank containing an ink absorber 2 is provided with a rib 2300 in the body 1000 in order to sustain good ink supply and an air existing region in the tank is defined by partial ribs 2500, 2400 formed on a cover. That region is formed continuously from the atmosphere communication port 1401 side to a corner region farthest from an ink supply port 1200. The rib 2300 is formed on the inner surface of the body 1000 located on the outside of an imaginary arc separated by a distance to the atmosphere communication space from the center, i.e., the ink supply port 1200, by several ribs extending in parallel with the moving direction of the carriage. According to the structure, good ink supply can be ensured even when the residual quantity of ink is small. |
